Pickleball Magico will be a world class, first of its kind indoor pickleball facility in the Bahia Banderas area of Nayarit / Jalisco, Mexico. This facility will address the unmet and growing demand for pickleball playing opportunities for Mexican Nationals, both local and across the country, expats, snowbirds, and tourists. It will become the training hub for Pickleball coaches and referees and a place to call home for the Mexican Professional teams. People of all ages and playing ability will feel a sense of belonging and tourists from around the world will find a visit to the venue unique, memorable and satisfying. The environment created will reflect health and exercise, learning, competition, socialization, and a sense of community and pride. The following characteristics combined will create and earn the ‘world class’ description:
COURTS
World Class Characteristics
The courts will be constructed to optimize player comfort with cushioning that does not affect ball behaviour. This will limit players becoming stiff and sore and will reduce potential injuries. Players will be able to spend more time on the courts than their bodies would otherwise allow.
There will be optimal space dedicated around each court. Many courts in the local area (and elsewhere) limit the distance behind the court baseline and in between courts. This can hinder serve and deep shot returns as well as shots such as ‘around the post’ or ATP and can cause injuries. Play will not be hindered on any court in Pickleball Magico.
There will be ‘ball barriers’ to limit stray balls from other courts entering and interrupting play on any of the courts. Many courts and facilities have no barriers at all, again, interrupting play and causing injuries.
Exit and entry to all courts will not affect any other court. Again, many other court facilities have been laid out in such a way that play is interrupted by others entering or exiting adjacent courts.
World Class FACILITY
The facility will be designed to maximize flow to and from the courts and to/from all other amenities and areas. The user experience will be the first and foremost consideration in all design decisions.
The environment will reflect a clean and modern aesthetic while respecting and celebrating the traditions and culture of Mexico. guests and visitors from other countries will feel at home because they play pickleball and programming will serve them, and the facility will provide a truly Mexican experience. Pickleball Magico will become a tourist destination and attraction.
The entire facility with the exception of an outdoor social area will be climate controlled thereby maximizing the comfort for all.
